Dear Parents and Carers,
Attendance 93.3%
Over the last two weeks we have begun to conduct pupil voice surveys relating to life in school. The first survey focused on Break and lunch time provision, where the children were keen to have more play equipment to support this unstructured time. They have compiled a "wish list" of resources and Mrs Marrison has taken the lead in sourcing these items and looking at ways that we can fundraise for some of the big ticket items that have been requested. Watch this space for further updates, but I am pleased to report that some of the desired items have been rolled out already and this has had a positive impact on lunch times already.
I wanted to thank you all for your support in attending parents' evenings this week where I am sure you have been able to see the great learning that is taking place in the classrooms.

Kind regards
Mr N Campbell

We are planning to hold our annual AGM on Monday 24th March straight from school for up to 1hr. Our aim is to brainstorm ideas for a Summer Fete and any other fundraising activities/ideas.
All Parents/Carers are welcome to join us. Input and help are always welcome and greatly appreciated.
We are also looking for a keen person to step into the voluntary role of treasurer for the committee.
If you are able to attend please enter via the main school office.
Look forward to seeing you there.
The Friends
As there was a problem with the nursery class photo we have rearranged for the photo to be taken again. This will take place at 9am on Friday 28th March. If your child attends in the afternoon, or it is not one of their usual days to attend nursery, you may bring your child to the school reception at 9am to be part of the photograph.
Please let us know if your child cannot be in this photograph.
If anyone has lost a locket containing a picture please see a member of staff in the office. This looks sentimental and we would like to try and return it to the owner.
A description of the locket will be required.
The Tag Rugby and Cheerleading club currently running will continue until we finish for the Easter Break. After we return from the Easter break these clubs will stop however the running club will still continue up until the Summer Holiday. If your child is enrolled on the running club there is no need to enroll them again however if a child misses 2 consecutive weeks we will contact the Parent/Carer to advise that the place has been removed and will be offered to a child on the waiting list.
After the Easter break new clubs will not be taking place after school but will take place during the lunchtime break.
Fortnightly class updates and achievements
Nursery
All the children have had a busy fun-filled couple of weeks. They enjoyed tasting pancakes to celebrate Shrove Tuesday and dressed up in pyjamas for World Book Day
The younger children read the book 'You Choose'. This led to them learning and talking about their families, or who they would choose to have in their family. They also learned what a friend is and talked about who their friends are.
The next week the children learned what the characteristics of a non-fiction book are. They looked at the different parts of the book and compared it to a story book. This particular book was about the season of spring. The children looked at and talked about different signs of spring. They added blossom to tree templates using finger painting.
The older children have continued to learn about different sorts of weather. They read the book 'Rain' about a little boy and his Grandad's adventure in the rain, taking part in a carnival. We looked at maps to find Venice and saw pictures of the city and the boats - the gondalas. The book 'The Dot' encouraged the children to have a go at painting like the little girl, Vashti, in the story. They printed with circles, painted circles and dots, then inspired by some Damian Hirst artworks, used stickers to make their own works of art.
The next week the children learned about the wind. They enjoyed listening to the story 'Rosie's Hat'. They saw pictures of the destructive nature of the wind, before having fun blowing a handheld windmill and blowing and popping bubbles. They also read 'Tidy' , a book about a badger who likes his forest to be neat and tidy but takes things a little too far and ends up concreting over the whole forest. In the end he realises his mistake and puts the forest back to how it was.
