Dear Parents and Carers,
It has been a brilliant start to the term with the children well engaged with their learning. As you know we have launched our steps to success last week because we wanted to find sustainable ways to recognise and reward your children for displaying the correct attitudes to learning.
The children are fully enjoying the rewards and it is having a positive impact on the school as a whole. Less and less children are spending time out of class because they are focused on demonstrating our expected attitudes to learning. This is good news because it now means that as a school we can accelerate our programme to raise standards.
Our expected attitudes to learning are

Please talk these through with your children and reinforce our message that we want everyone to climb the steps to success!
Thank you for your continued support.
Mr N Campbell

W/c 15.4.24
We would like to welcome all the new children who have started Bishys this week. Our topic this half term is Minibeasts. We began by reading the book 'Mad About Minibeasts' by Giles Andreae. It introduced us to lots of different minibeasts with little poems. Although the weather was not very good we went out into the nursery garden and used magnifying glasses to find minibeasts. We found ladybirds, ants and spiders.
W/c 22.4.24
This week we have been thinking about caterpillars. Our story this week has been 'The Hungry Caterpillar' by Eric Carle. The children enjoyed this story and have begun to be able to retell it for themselves. We learned that caterpillars turn into butterflies or moths. We made our own caterpillars using paper chains. At the end of the week we had a special delivery - some live caterpillars!! They are so tiny at the moment. We are looking forward to watch them grow and change into butterflies.
